When we become parents, this is often regarded as an act of love and selflessness. Beneath the surface of these qualities, there are profound and unique opportunities for healing, not just for the child but also for the parent. Childhood trauma can stem either from abuse, neglect, or other experiences that can cast a long shadow over one’s life.

The aftermath can be observed into adulthood which manifests in various means such as excessive stress, depression, and relationship difficulties. It seems at some point in our lives that these wounds will be impossible to heal.
